Supply Preference Rules, a sub-set of Business Preference Rules, define which products, or Product Aggregates, receive, or are entitled to receive, a specific quantity of capacity in a specific time frame.
They are used to:
control mix of builds (e.g. Sole Source, key, margin or
commodity products)
reserve for specific Demand Classes (e.g. customer JIT
inventory)
build products in excess of Demand to load factories
They also include other characteristics that control inventory or
capacity usage (e.g. Batching / Rounding, lots on hold, small
lot partial usage)
